good article, made me remember how much I enjoy fishing with my friend of 30 plus years. We are both Seniors now and I'm lucky to be a snowbird. I fish with him atleast once a week all summer and the stories/memories never get old.

We’ve also been friends 30+ years .
He just recently retired . Me being six years his senior. I’ve been retired awhile.
We used to bow hunt with traditional equipment every year for the entire season down here , from September through the first of January. And fish the rest of the year .
Since then we’ve been trying to get together once a week .
It’s good to have a fishing buddy to grow old with .

Met up with my fishing buddy at West Point Reservoir this morning and spent about four hours catching little gills on my 1wt flyrod.
Showed my friend my technique for catching green sunfish and he caught about twenty five .
I finished the day with 55 gills and green sunfish total .
These were the best of the day .

Have to say you got in going on with the color coordination on that 1wt setup. Really looks cool and sounds like you guys had a good time today.

Thanks , and yes we had a blast .
After showing my buddy the method I was using to get the green sunfish to shoot out from the rocks and grab my fly , he was surprised how fast these little fish are .
A few times they were the faster and they would make it back under a rock , but we were able to work them free .
