Switched locations this morning
I started off this morning at the local reservoir , dock fishing .
Caught one redbreast in almost an hour .
Packed up and headed to the town pond .
I did a little better , caught five , but they were small gills .
What made the trip was a little guy around two or three years old stopped with his mother to watch me fish .
It put the pressure on me to catch something while he was watching. You could tell he was very interested in my fishing .
I was fishing a float n fly with a spider fly .
After several empty casts , I could hear his mom was telling him that being patient was part of fishing , I finally connected with what turned out to be the biggest gill of the morning.
The look on his face was awesome.
I think we have a future Gillchaser walking around here at our town pond .

been a many times where some kiddo I didnt know got to reel in a few when I was on small town ponds playing around .
one little girl and her dad were watching me and my lil hammer em one day and it was obvious she wanted to ketch fish too.
we gave her our lil zebco set up and let her ketch some that day as well , it made my heart happy to see dad and her so happy .
