Dropshot would be my choice
I fish for bluegill a lot, it's practically my favorite fish. Now I love fishing at dams and the dam I fish at chickamauga dam has massive bluegill. I was wondering how would I present a lure to catch these bluegill. These fish stay on the bottom so it's a little tricky. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for your input. I've never really fished a dropshot with lures how would you rig it for? What lures would you use? And what size weight for the raging current?
It would be hard to say how much weight as the current certainly changes. I would figure the bream would be in the current seams and current breaks waiting to ambush was comes by. I believe Richard Gene the fishing Machine has a video where he is catching bream below one of the dams. I will see if I can find it

I'm pretty sure Alphahawk will be along shortly to get you scared away. That's in his wheelhouse. How deep we talking?

I’ve got quite successful with my go to flyNfloat rig. Then there’s the Strike King micro lure for those top water offerings! Just pure fun seeing THE take. Cheers!
