Default I was at it again

Did some gill fishing in the morning and ended up with 8 keepers smallest was 6 3/4" and the largest was 7 3/4". Night crawlers on the bottom produced the bigger fish but some were caught over a shallow weedbed on a dropoff. All fish were caught on crawlers. Also caught 2 channel catfish one on the bottom other was on the shallow wed bed on dropoff. It was fun day catching some nicer gills.

I'm always glad to hear other people catching fish, the only thing better is ME catching fish. Were you expecting gills when you got the cats? THAT could have been a surprise.
    Enjoy your dinner!

Yea I was expecting gills when the cats hit. They were small but still a surprise. I was out gill fishing yesterday evening with my dad and we were caught a bunch of dinks and I caught 1 8" gill which was a blast cause it fought so hard! It started to pull drag!!! While out we saw an owl and heard other wildlife. Also got our exercise cause it is a long walk to the gill spot on this lake. The gill spot is a good spot cause there are sucken trees. I am gonna hit this spot up another day and during the day.

Nice that you got to fish w/ your pops. I get to on occasion, but it's mostly salt water. We always catch, but I'm not much on salt water fishing. There's no scenery other than run down wells and a HOT NON STOP BEAMING SUN.

I get into a load of gills saturday, probably caught 30 or more, but only brought home 12. Funny thing is that it was my first time cooking 'em and I ruined 'em. I'm pretty sure I did it all wrong.
    Ah well.

I think my brother's gonna bring his girls for a fishing day, Hope we catch some fun ones. Depends on the weather, thunderstorms rolling in and fishing don't mix in our book.
Glad you are getting to fish with your dad!

When I go fishing on inland lakes I fish with my dad and then when I fish on Lake Michigan I go with my grandpa.
