I’m with Bob, pretty setting. I’ve lost some good gills too but have no solid reason why, use sickles for most everything. Good to get out now that the weather is holding for the moment.
Nice report, thanks for sharing

Back to the town pond again today .
Took my 5’ St Croix Avid paired with my new Daiwa Legalis LT 1000 , spooled with SOS 2# .
I’ve started using the SOS on the large spool reels .
Took a few plastic baits .
After tossing a Trout Magnet without a hookup for over half an hour , I rigged up a drop shot rig using a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty shad on a size 8 sickle bait holder hook , with a 1/16 weight about 18” below the hook.
Had a couple short strikes , but no hookups. So I switched out the sickle hook for a 1/64 jighead with a size 10 sickle hook .
I was twitching the rig back in and the bass below decided to pounce on it about fifteen feet from the bank .
I’m glad I had my drag set right . It immediately striped off about 50 feet of line .
Took a few minutes to get it to where I could reach down and grab the bottom lip .
The drag on the Daiwa Legalis LT worked flawless with several runs from the bass .
Most fun I’ve had landing a fish since last fall .
Just before leaving I was able to connect with a small red ear . Pretty colors.
Not sure where the gills were at today .
When fishing these days I sit on a stool and don’t move around too much .
This time of year bank fishing is not a bad way to go. That is a nice variety of fish. I hope to have my legalis 1000 out on the water soon, maybe today.

Nice catch. Back in October I was rear ended at a red light. Every time I come to a light now I’m paranoid about that happening again.
