Thankfully I have yet to see a python out there, but I know it's just a matter of time.

True enough. Makes a guy want to pack a surprise - just don’t shoot a hole in the boat.

with the sizes of them and the hybridization factor it is quite possible we will eventually hear about one taking out a human.
a really large python could easily subdue and swallow a small human , just saying
back in the day though there were tales of much more dangerous reptiles on the lose and thriving in Florida . heard tell in one location there was possibly a breeding colony of cobras in place .

A fella might stand a chance being surprised by a large constrictor. The cobra on the other hand is much more deadly.

Gillchaser, I've been dreaming up of the ideas since joining this forum couple years ago though somewhere in the line of hitting all the local piers since I am also big on saltwater fishing. Off course 2 species on my invasive species list to catch happen to be in south Florida as well: Peacock bass and asian snakeheads, if I know where to look...Lol.

I have big fear of snake, growing up in southeast Asia and all. Just watching one of those reality tv shows where guys in waders going after them big pythons makes me squirmish...Lol

Don’t care much for the snakeheads , I’ll just go fishing for Bowfin around here . I’m not sure there’s an UL that’ll hold one . LOL !
The two on my list would be , definitely the peacock bass . I’ve wanted to catch one of those every since I saw Larry Dahiberg catch them on his “ Hunt for Big Fish “ show and I found out they were in south Florida.
The other one I think would be fun to catch are the Oscars . They remind me of a bluegill on steroids.
