Default Late report from Christmas Eve Eve

I have been meaning to post this but things just keep coming up but my dad and I got to do a little trout fishing before Christmas. My goal was to catch some native brookies but the smaller creek we went to for that didn’t cooperate. I ended the day with 33 trout all being rainbows and the biggest was 17 inches. Bait of choice was either a trout magnet or buggy soft plastic. The water was crystal clear and the fish were gorgeous. The only thing to make it better was getting to spend some creek time with my dad.

Everyone is a little jealous of the temps I’ve had down this far south for a while now, but I’m jealous of the places like where you went for those trout. And the clear water. Simply beautiful! The color on those fish is more brilliant than I can ever remember seeing. Great trip and time with your Dad, you’re a fortunate man.

Water looks absolutely beautiful, and the trout sure were pretty. Congrats on a nice trip with your dad. What would you guess the water temps were? Just curious.

Thank you everyone! We sure did have a good time. Bob I am really not sure with the water temps but those creeks are cold cold even in the summer. They sustain trout year round so I would say in the 40’s to low 50’s? But that is strictly a guess…
Thanks BobC thanked you for this post
