Interesting lure
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Was wondering if any more information could be provided on the use of these lures? Use from boat/shore, method of use as jig or spoon, hook placement used, add ons used on hooks or not, species targeted/caught and effectiveness and finally used sparingly/a lot? Thanks.
I have used them on a few occasions - from the shore but would use them in my boat.
The first time I did not use a trailer and a fairly large fish took my jig and ran off with it - eventually breaking my line. That was the only strike I had that day. I did not use it as a spoon on this occasion.
Then back in April - I put a trailer hook on it and caught a bunch in about 30-45 minutes. You can see the setup if you scroll back up in the thread. Every fish hit the trailer hook - caught bluegill and crappie. Both hooks were tipped with a crappie nibble. I probably should not use a trailer next time and see if I have any success.
They’re cool looking lures - I need to use them more often.

Yes, I saw you setup but was not sure if you had settled on the 2 hook setup as best use of hooks. Am I correct in thinking that on the April trip you were using cast and retrieve as a spoon? Steady retrieve or stop and go off bottom? I use small casting spoons in the summer to reach deep water gills from the shore and was curious as to how this lure would work. Thank you for your quick reply and info.
I ordered some of the assist hooks that pair with the aji metal lures. I got them from a shop in the UK that is mentioned in the blog post Randy shared earlier in thread.
I got 3 each of the small, medium, and large. I’m really interested in how this will work. Did I need them not really - but wanted to give it a try.

Fished with the nano aji metal lures for awhile today. I clipped on the majorcraft trail hook and had mixed results. First cast with this rig - something took it and ripped the trail hook off the clip. I did catch a few with this setup but not sure it will be worth it in the long run. I cut my losses after losing two trail hooks and one aji metal. Ha.
