    Default I like them Oldies.....

Not talkin bout those great songs from the 50's-70's (although I do have a nice collection of vinyl from that era). I'm referring to those rods and reels from that same time period. Fished the past two days with a couple of classic Fenwick glass ultra lite rods paired up with a Quick Microlite 265 and a Garcia Mitchell 308. Fish were not coming easy, hot and muggy weather, but still enjoyed being out there. Today, right before noon, I caught a Green sunfish/Gill hybrid that put a big smile on my face. Nicest one I have caught and hit a classic lure to boot. Came up and inhaled a Arbogast Teeny Hula Popper. Love that aggression they get from the Green sunfish side. Quite a thrill when landed. Here's a few pics from the 2 days. Thanks for lookin!Name: DSC01288.jpg

DSJ, I’m one to own the DAM reel you were talking about (no pun intended, lol.) It was one 3 reels I picked up in my younger self for casting baitNweight rigs to California. Though no big fish worthy of mention but lots of barred surf perches. I’ll post a picture if come across in the garage somewhere. Good read!

    Nice catches and outfits.
I have an old Mitchell 408 around here someplace . Sweet reel.
I have it on an old Shakespeare fiberglass UL rod .
    Used to be my favorite.
Would love to have an old Fenwick UL glass rod .
