I had a couple of old lanterns that I parted ways with. I have a 22 rifle that has the sling in a retractable roll in the buttstock. Complete with a beaver tail forend. They did have some good stuff

My old rod was a Browning Silaflex in 5’ and a Diawa tiny mite reel rode the seat, as best I can remember. Not vintage by the standards y’all have shown but it caught a lot of bluegill and crappie for me. It was glass and had just enough stiffness in the lower end to be fun. I wore the gears out of the reel to where it would bind when reeling and I don’t remember where the rod got to. My dad had some old rods, mostly saltwater stuff, and a couple were made of cedar. Neither my brother or I had any interest and they went away also. Wish I had them just to hang on the wall.
Y’all have some wonderful old gear. I’ve never before seen anything from occupied Japan. There used to be a group of guys up in Flagler county that fished with vintage gear. Rod, reel and plugs had to be of the period that they agreed on. Here they were fishing for large fish with plugs that were collectible and worth hundreds of dollars. Thumb busters were the norm and vintage spinners were also in the mix.

While browsing through the junk shops today I ran into a metal rod around 7ft in lenght. Looked to be in pretty decent shape. It certainly was heavy.

I enjoy collecting vintage fishing equipment of all styles .
And sometimes I enjoy an outing fishing with it .
But , with all of the advancements in equipment now days , I mostly fish with modern lightweight equipment.
I’m an ultralight fisherman mostly , with my spinning and fly equipment. And lately I’ve been playing with BFS equipment. Although I’ve never been a diehard baitcaster fan .
Just something to play with .
I have seen some shorter ones before. When I first saw it I was thinking it was a bamboo fly rod from the color and length
