Funfishers, in deed it looked that way, lol. However never underestimate these dime-a-dozen floats from Walmart! This particular one here been through hell and back carrying salmon eggs to trouts many winters, red wrigglers for bluegills, and even deer hair jigs for striped bass ( a million years ago when lake mead was deep enough to swim in), and I actually caught a catfish once floating worms. I have a nice European floating kind sitting in the tackle box but never get around to reading the instructions on how to use it…lol. Thanks for the post, cheers!

Well the wife and I have far too big a selection of floats in our bag and we could reduce our load greatly by eliminating what we don't use.
I'm guessing you understood that I was just funnin with you. On the bright sunny days I can hardly see my float when I get it out where I want it, these old eyes just aren't what they were.
You add to the fun of this forum LV and I enjoy reading your reports.

Yes, definitely I knew that. It was funny. But it was also that hot here….in fact if you look closer the Gill on the rail you can make out his unpleasant thoughts on me for putting him there for a picture, lol.

Kmorrow, yes Varivas are excellent and also much loved and prefered by many UL enthus here. However i personally don't think there's much different between brands of line if ones to use Mono or Nylon as they like to refer it in Japan. Having said that I've always wanted to try out the Varivas Area super ester in 1.4lb. I cant seem to find the diameter specification but remember a member who goes by S_V as quoting the diameter being in the 0.075mm( 0.00295 inch) vs the Ice Magic 0.105mm in 1lb guise. That is crazy thin even for me as i'm nearsighted( I can read 4 inches infront of me without glasses.) The 1lb-er Sufix fits through a #26 to #30 dry flie hooks with clearance so I think what benefits the Varivas will give me will be its non-stretch property, that alone i would love to experience someday, when Ebay sellers stop charging same amount as their line's price just to ship.
