That is some clear water.
Fishing from shore, I see fish protecting nests but rarely have I seen them spawning. Today I caught two pumpkinseeds and a few nice gills in a little deeper water on a 00 spinner dressed with a fly and one on a purple plastic bait fished behind a #7 splitshot to get it down deeper. Everything else on that plastic bait today was small. Water was choppy & fish seemed to be hanging deeper than what they have been the last few weeks.
Anyhow, this lake has a very small piece of water at one end of the dam that is very shallow & I have noticed a few seeds nesting there lately. When I approached that area today, there were two there and spawning. My point and shoot camera has a 5x zoom (which I have never used before) but cranked it up knowing these fish wouldn't let me get very close. Should have taken a video, but haven't used that either. Not very into the newer high tech gear, which you probably know seeing some of the fishing gear I use. So I snapped a few pics of these two making lil' pumpkins. Almost like a underwater dance, really cool to see. And then the female took off and left the male on guard duty. Do you guys see this often?

I've never seen it. Water that clear in the spring or early summer is rare, indeed, around here. Cool!

Nice photos and thanks for the share. Also nice to see some old gear still doing the job!

I’ve never seen it either, must be real cool in person. Most of our water here is tannic stained and looks like iced tea.

Most of the water I fish for BG is that clear. When the fish are on beds you can see them. If you get in the water to cool off the small BG will actually nibble at your leg hairs.
Anybody tied any leg hair jigs ?
Great pictures.
Thanks for sharing
