Thats kinda what I'm looking for I guess. Is a feel good thing or confidence Bream fishing....my partner uses clear 4#mono and if I use hivis 4# mono/no leader he can out fish me.

Thanks guys for the knot suggestion and the video. I had been using the double uni which is tough with my eyes. I will definitely learn this knot today and use it tomorrow

might be that an older bream in really clear waters that are heavily fished could be line shy on a calm day .
not sure ,but I dont use hi viz or braid in the really gin clear water just to be sure most of the time

For the most Places that I fish I’d say not line shy.and I use hi viz mostly but I also keep another rod spooled up with #4 clear S.O.S just in case I ever think they might be . Caught hundreds one day this past week on hi viz water clarity 6’+ .

I’ve had good luck with the hi viz and agree with some that say that the fish don’t perceive the line as a threat. Some days nothing seems to work. I have gone to the surgeons knot replacing tippet line on my fly leaders and a two turn goes thru the guides just fine and the knot has not failed me. It is an easy knot to see and tie and has a high break strength.

Sometimes. When I was young I fished gold Stren all of the time until one day when my dad was catching bluegill on his 4lb fluorescent blue Stren and I wasn't catching any on my 4lb gold Stren. I asked him for a 4 ft. section of his line and blood knotted it to the end of mine and then started catching fish. Never really noticed a difference until then, but it was the last day I fished with gold line.

I use Sufix braid in the camo color. It blends in well with weeds. Fish don't seem to be bothered by it.

I switched to the surgeons knot with my 4# nano fil. Haven't broken a knot yet.

IMO BG? Nah use hivis all the time and outfish whomever I am with consistantly. can see the bites better but really can see the line to tie a jig or thread it thru rod. BG's and most fish don't care about line but what's on the end of it. JMHO
