Default a few from the recent full moon...

Got out earlier in the week around the full moon, and found a few beds holding some nice bream. I released around 20-30 and kept some big males for supper. I fished wigglers on a 1/32 oz jig head, and also "root beer float" color Trout Magnet, tipped with a piece of wiggler. Used my new Abu Garcia Slow Taper Special rod with 1000S MGX Theta reel, spooled with 5 lb test Twitch Master to get them out from the trees.

Not this time... the last shellcracker I weighed was 1.6 lbs during the May new moon, and I didn't catch any that big this time.

    Beautiful native bluegill !!

Don’t have wonder why they are called bluegill when you look at those.

Those are some great fish! Betting dinner was also good. I haven’t kept enough of my pet bluegill for dinner in a while.
