Nice. I think you might find some back on those beds next week with the full moon.
It looks like the spawn is over at Nickajack. Spent about 4 hours fishing….and scanning for new beds. Plenty of older beds but nothing new from last week. I did manage to boat around 40 fish….shell cracker in the 8-9 inch range with a few 10 inch.….a few chunky redbreast..and some chunky Gills. It was all Abu Garcia today. Eradicator Real Finesse 6’ 7” Slow Taper Special rod with a Revo MGX Theta 1000 reel…..line was the 1.8# test Varivas ES2 Ester Mono….using a 4 foot section of Phantom FC 2# test leader. Lure was a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram jig head with a #10 hook. Of course there could be another spawn later but the 5 years I have had the boat down there it has never occurred. Had a lot of fun today and will continue to check out the lake up until the first week of June but time to check Center Hill for some spawning activity. The tailrace is still void of bluegill and crappie….very odd.

Another great day, Randy, and the water and surroundings look beautiful. You’re giving the Abu Garcia tackle a good workout this season!

Nice fish!
been a crazy year for sure !
finding some beds cleaned and empty others not even touched yet!
Hopefully you will find some new spots on Center Gill and sore lip some of those fish as well. Hot weather is about to set in quick, they will be back at the tail race soon.
