LV, look up a member H2ohammer, Brian. He makes some excellent small plastics that work well for our local gills. He just released a maggot imitation recently you should see.

I can't speak for your area, but the Dick's Sporting Goods / Field & Stream stores in our area carry a modest supply of TM 9 piece packs, and some of their Floats as well. I was suprised to see them when I went there as I wouldn't have thought they would carry them.

Even with troutmagnet size I’m having moderate rate of hook set. I always thought it’s me but once I switch to plastic on smaller hook fished under split shots I knew it was the smaller fish biting just the plastic and miss the hook on the jig head.

Here's a hint for all you that don't get hard water every winter. Look up the down sized plastics and jigs made for ice fishing. Lots of tungstens made for hard water, and they go down without floating and take the line with them! Lots and lots of tiny plastics, and they are starting to really advertise towards the beginning of the ice season.
You can also get the tiny jig heads directly from Bobby Garland on line, and the inch and a quarter rattailish plastics, too. All Bobby Garland has are 48th and 64th, but they have reverse tangs that are small enough to make very little distortion in tiny plastics but still hold very well. Take a side cutter and carefully remove the tang for an even tinier jig head. They are also unpainted but that hasn't seemed to have made much difference with gills for me.
I shop on line quite a bit and try to go directly to the manufacturer if possible for a far better selection.
