Default 1/32 oz. Jig Head recommendation for Trout Magnet bodies?

As the title states, I was wondering what some of you guys are using, or could suggest in a 1/32 oz jig head that works well with TM bodies.

I want to stay with a USDM product vs a JDM. I'm just looking for a basic unpainted 1/32 oz. ball head in size 6 or 8 (prefer 8) with an appropriate length shank that works with the TM bodies. I've been looking for one that may also have a "keeper barb" on the shank, like the 1/64 TM Jig head, but unsure if that may even be an option.

Appreciate any suggestions you may have to offer.

This is the old Crappie Magnet jig head in 1/32 unpainted. It has a small collar that I would cut off when using the TM body on it. But you can keep the collar on and the TM will fit but it creates a slight bulge on the head of the body. I just always cut the collar off and it worked fine. I liked these for 2 reasons...it is unpainted...and has a #6 hook....is a shad dart jig head...and the jig head is Made in USA. I know you stated you wanted a ball head but this might be an option for you.

Thanks Randy, no the shad dart style will be fine, just figured I'd have a better chance of finding a ball head. I was assuming that the Crappie Magnet Jig head may have a longer shank and not work on the smaller TM bodies, so that is great news actually. This has been very helpful. Thank you!

I have real good luck with the Itty Bitty Jighead by Bobby Garland for the TM bodies. They come in 1/48 and 1/64, not 1/32 though. The hook is a sharp #8 and it fits the TM body perfect with the keeper barb intact. While not JDM sharp I will reach for that hook before I will use the TM stock gold hook. It is unpainted so you can customize colors easily with powder paint and a flame source. It used to be readily available at BPS but I have not been in the store since March so not sure of current availability. Just another option out there that I have used.

Thanks STM. I've already got different 1/64 but need 1/32 now. I will look at these though when I need more 1/64. Thanks.

I use a ball head from Cabela’s that is perfect for the TM. I can’t find it on their website, but I know they sell them in the stores.

Some of the members who pour jigheads should be able to customize what you want. I know there are several who do this. I have ordered several custom orders from member Grousefly.

Thanks, I just ordered some of the Crappie Magnet Jig heads that Randy suggested, but I'll check my local BPS next time I go in for these also. Are the ones you are talking about collarless? If so, they may have them mixed in with the fly tying materials in my local BPS store. Appreciate the info.

Thanks ET, appreciate the input. I'll keep it in mind. But my needs are pretty basic so I don't think I'll need anything custom at the moment.
