Have never tried weenie's but have tried most everything else, the last time we went we caught a good many on chicken livers. Just a small piece on a bare hook bottom fishing. But we will try the weenier's next trip for sure.
Oh by the way nice fish

thanks for the comments yawl , and yes they showed a lot of color variances . Just my opinion but I think there is a mix of coppernose and native and crosses of those 2 in there .
Fish number 2 had about one of the coolest bluegill colorations ever as you all noticed , that diamondback barring and really dark splotches on its breast and belly against the much lighter background were very cool .
I hope to get back over there soon and do it again , I am gunna get SK to go to if I can ….heck maybe we will eat some weenies too , not just the fish ….

When I was a child, on some of our first fishing trips with my aunt and cousins, we used bacon. It stays on a long time. Not a lot of big ones, but fun for the children.

Pretty fish! I’m pretty sure a piece of hot dog may have been the first “bait” I used when I was a kid. We caught everything on hot dogs. Even some pretty good sized bass.
