How does it cast those 1/64 magnets?
The replacement TSS that first arrived broken came in today. Evening turned out nice so I decided to hit the water.
First problem was the Diawa SS700 reel seat is to small and would not lock down. Very disappointed in that since I just bought a new one and it was supposed to go on this rod. I put on a Shimano Sedona spooled with SOS 4# and put on a TM sow bug colorfished under a Thill fixed float.
I really like the feel of the rod. It balanced the reel very well. Cast was very good for the setup. Rod is a little stiffer than I expected but not uncomfortable. I have to say it fishes more like a L than a UL. I caught gills, crappie and a very nice bass that was easily 2#. Id give it a 4 star out of 5. Better reel seat would have pushed it up.
How does it cast those 1/64 magnets?
Wow, that must be one small reel seat. I think this is a first that I have heard of. Thanks for the report.

It does an ok job. For the price point its a very good rod. If I was going to throw them without a float I would drop down to #2 SOS. If distance is not a issue #4 would be ok.
Great report!!
I don’t know if you watched my video on the rod or not. I did a bending curve demonstration that showed how stiff the rod is. Most US market UL rods are noodles.....too soft and no feel. What about the reel seat do you not like? Just curious. For those reading I’ve done casting test with the rod using a 1/64 Trout Magnet and 2# test line with .125mm diameter. It casts 45 feet. Using SOS 4# test one is not going to get much distance with a 1/64 ounce jig. Are you saying the reel seat on the rod is too small or the “reel foot” on the reel is too small?

The reel seat on the reel is to small or depending how you look at it the rod reel seat is to big for the SS 700 base. Your observations is same as mine. To cast 1/64 you need a 2# line.
Wow......I owned a 700 years back. I went out to the garage after reading your post and put several Daiwa’s and Shimano reels on a TSS rod I have. They all fit....some 1000....2000 and one 2000 compact reel. I gave my son the 700 years ago.
