Default I didn’t miss it completely.

This spring needless to say has been one for the books. The virus.....horrible spring weather......and my first time ever having a severe case of vertigo. It looked like I would miss the spawn completely. Well I was able to get on the lake today and with the aid of the si unit I got in on a a fantastic 5 hours of fishing. I filmed using 5 minute loop mode today. I have over 200 chapters of video to edit....that translates to a lot of fish......approaching 200 for sure. I had close to 90 shell cracker.....90 bluegill.....and 3 good largemouth 14-15 inches. Also some redbreast in the mix. The bluegill were all at or a little over the 8 inch mark. Most of the shell cracker were 9-10 inches. But I had quite a few that hit the 11-11.5 inch mark. Most fish caught on the Fine Tail Banshee 6 foot Super Ultra Light.....including the largemouth. I did land a few shell cracker using the 6’ 7” Banshee. Used a Daiwa Presso Limited 1025 and a Ballistic FW 1000 reel. The line, 2.3# test Varivas ester mono with a 3 foot section of FC leader. The lure....I’m sure all can guess....a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram #8 jig head. Most beds were in 4-5 feet of water. I was at the lake this past Thursday.....no beds to be found. I knew it would most likely be on this past weekend but no way was I fighting that crowd. It is supposed to storm here the rest of the week. Not sure I’ll get down there before next week and I am pretty sure it will all be over by then. At least I had the one good day....and maybe there could be another spawn in June....I can hope anyway.

    Regards

Just don't get no better than days like that......

Question: Did you keep any of those shellcrackers?

    They sure do eat good.....

Awesome day, an UL anglers dream. Hopefully there will be more days like this soon, we got 2 inches rain up this way today, and all that water will be headed down that way unfortunately. Good catch and nice fish pictures.

Nice day. Definitely one to remember. Sounds like you need a couple of days to rest and edit. Looking forward to the video.
