They worked for me this past winter just fished them on a real slow retrieve under a float.
Last Friday I was fishing for crappie on one of my favorite lakes, could not buy a bite. Then I said somethings got to give so I moved to a spot I fish in winter. Put a black\ chart trout magnet on and dropped it to the bottom reeled up two turns and wham a big crappie was in the boat. 24 feet of water and I got my limit in about 30 mins. My question is do they go after it in winter like this on the Trout Magnet? If so I'm on to something great.

If you look up Crappie By Degrees by Tim Huffman or a similar article in Outdoor Life by Brian ? you will find your revelation to be confirmed. Deep and slow in the Winter, the Trout Magnet will work. Vertical Jigging is a deadly technique, Winter or Summer, and if you have good electronics you better have a big freezer
I love them!
