Good job Randy. I love reading your posts on this place you go. Many years past, I had a few places to go to catch fish like that. Those memories keep me looking for another spot like them, keep me coming back.
I fish with light action rods, but use 2 lb. mono on them. Last week my old bass fishing habits crept back in (first time fishing this year) and I broke off the first two trout magnets with a hook set. I feel horrible that two big bluegill had to swim around with those in their mouth and hope they don't suffer long term. After that, no problem, I just reeled up and fish on. No real need to set a fine wire hook, but sometimes I get too excited. I ordered an ultralight rod when I got home hoping to soften things up a little bit.

Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Love reading more and more about ultralight setups . Great pics and info Alphahawk!!
It is amazing how long U/L tackle and finesse techniques were overlooked. Even today, on some sites you take a look at an U/L thread or article and you have to smile.
You had those fish cornered for sure! Pretty ones!
