    Nice catch, no Gills? They are good eating also, and fight just as hard.

    It was odd, I just couldn't connect with many. I believe I caught two and they were simply small fish. I should be able to catch a basket of gills in the 8in range very, very soon.

    The bluegill in Lake Barkley simply do not acquire the size that the shellcrackers do.

    Those are beauties. I've never targeted shellcrackers, just catch the occasional one incidental to bluegill. There is a local lake where I know the shellcrackers spawn in different places than the bluegill by and large, but I can't get to those places without a boat - yet.
