Interesting. I would have thought it would be a little while before a fish would bite again. Yet if the fish is defending it's nest I can see it biting every time something invaded it's nest
How soon will a fish bite again after being caught? Daughter was home after graduating from college. Took her BG/SC fishing catch and release style. She caught it first and it was hooked deep so I decided to cut the line and release it. 10 minutes later I caught it again. Notice the pink and the orange jig head.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
That question can have different answers. I have caught fish that still had my jig in their mouth after an earlier break off. But I have also seen times they will not bite again for quite a while. Several years back I was fishing a bluegill bed below Pickwick Dam off the bank. I noticed a couple watching me up in the parking lot. I figured they were waiting for me to leave then they were going to fish same bed.....and since they were using crickets....had a fish basket with them....I assumed they would keep every fish off that bed and clean it out. I was using Trout Magnet and stuck 85 bluegill.....releasing them all. I continued to fish for another 30 minutes without a single bite. My hope was that I had stuck all the fish and they would not bite again for quite a while. So I walked up the sidewalk and loaded my car as the couple headed to same spot I had been fishing. This time I was the one watching. They fished for 30 minutes then left.....not a single bite. I was back at same spot at sunrise the next morning and stuck another 75 Gills from same spot. I think it depends on different factors.

Many years ago, a friend and I were fishing an island in the Tennessee River below Clifton, Tn. One of us stuck a bass which had hit a Texas rig worm. The fish broke off in a log jam, taking several feet of fluoroescent line with it. About an hour later, one of us hooked it again. The fish jumped and shook off the hook.We could see the other line trailing from it's mouth. We fished on down river for several hours and returned to the same area. The same fish hit for the third time that day. This time we landed it, removed both hooks including the trailing line and released it.

I had a crappie break my line this year that turned around and bit my bud's jig a few feet away from me while I was tying on a new jig
spit my jig out right when it hit the dock at his feet .
some fish are like some people and just don't get it

Yeah, you would think the fish would be so traumatized that wouldn't have anything to do with eating for the rest of the day.Makes me question about so-called pressured bodies of water, and fish seeing the same old lures.

My daughter kinda tried to explain it. Her example: your dog will give you the same greeting whether you have been gone for 5 minutes 5 hours or 5 days. They know you were gone but can't tell time or space. Fish knew he got stuck but that's all he remembers. Kinda weird because I was worried about pressure on the fish because I knew I was headed back today. Not anymore

I wish the monster crappie I lost today would have been in the bite twice mode ....I tried to trick it into another go off and on for 30 minutes and no dice darn it ....man that was a big crappie and I ain’t joking around
I really don’t like to be with in grasp of a crappie that size and have it shake the jig ....

I've caught the same trout twice quite often.
Shortest period was about an hour, it was the same rainbow but alot less fight the second time.
One particular trout I caught was a 12"-13" rainbow with a distinctive hump back, caught him on a brown jig. About a month later I caught him again in the exact same spot on the same type and color jig. He still had the hook sore in his jaw.
A friend caught the same brown trout in the same hole 3 times in a month. He took pics each time and it indeed was the same fish.
