    Default Pond Bluegills 4/26/2020

My wife and I drove up to the Cumberland Plateau to visit with and fish with brother in law, Leon, and Wanda’s sister, Joan. Unfortunately, Leon had to go to the hospital in Knoxville because his knee locked up and he couldn’t walk. So I fished alone in the pond with my wife watching from the car as a very light rain was falling.

I landed 14 Bluegills and 1 small bass in about 30-40 minutes of fishing. I kept 12 gills for dinner tonight. Plus, I finally was able to catch a tarp sized Bluegill. Two of them as a matter of fact. 10.5” and 10.25”.

When it looked like the rain was going to get harder, I stopped fishing and we headed back to Harrison.

I am including a couple of Striper pics of big fish that I caught last week. One was 22 pounds 9 oz and the other was 29 pounds and 13 ounces.

Good eating and I know those striped fish put up a good fight! Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he gets his knee issue straitened out.

Those are some nice Gills. Great to see a harvest of the cricket crunchers from a pond. They can get stunted quick, those look very healthy, and tasty!

Some extra nice fish DK. I’d love a pond like that to tap from now and then.
