    Default Short mess from Barkley

59.5 degrees on main lake which seems chilly for this time of year. Found 63-64 degree water in a North cove on North Barkley and lucked into a small mess. The big cracker was caught on my Finetail SUL and all I can say is WOW!! What a ball!!

Those will eat just fine, minus that old whisker fish. Don’t much care for the scale-less kind.

I should've weighed him but didn't. He'll go way over 1.5lbs, probably 1.75lbs. The girth on these fish in this lake is eye opening. My problem is locating and catching them in numbers. I typically catch short messes...which beats a blank!!

I agree, some is better than none. Side image helps find em sometimes. Great looking crackers, big one is a bonafide toad. I know that was a heck of a fight.

Awesome! Now that I can’t seem to find a MC Finetail Banshee 602SUL for a decent price, y’all have me thinking about that rod as an alternative. I wonder how they compare to each other? If not much of a drop off in sensitivity and performance, I may order one once things get back to semi normal.
