Has anyone tried the weedless charlie brewer slider jig head pictured below?

Did you have any luck with them. They say you can use one of their 1.5" paddletail grub with it but I tried to use a 2" curly tail grub(Mister Twister) and it seem too small. Wondering what did I do wrong?

I have used them (with slider grubs) with good success. They should work with most plastic bodies.

deathb4disc, what's your preferred jig weight fishing these guys? 1/16 oz? 1/32 oz? Thanks for the feedback!

1/32 oz has been my standard weight for decades. In shallow water (5-6' or less), 1/64 is great.

I rarely use 1/16 oz. When I do, it's in windy conditions or deep water (18-20' or more.)
Thanks BobC thanked you for this post

Got the Panfish Kit, which has the Bison TM in it. Also purchased the Sow Bug, Black, and Red TM along with some 2lb SOS.

Hopefully I'll find some TM that works for me here in North Texas.

I'm going to look into some roadrunners and beetle spins, I've had some decent luck with those in the past.

    Thanks everyone.

The rest of my stuff came in today! That's a lot early than anticipated!

Question for you guys. Is my impression that most of you rarely use 1/8 oz jig heads? That usually the heaviest preferred is 1/16 and 1/32 oz?

The reason, I'm asking is because I'm trying to separate out my fishing lures until a dedicate panfish/crappie while the rest will go into bass/multi-species set up. So my thought process is everything from 1/8 oz and up goes into the "bass" gear, and the smaller stuff into the "panfish" gear.

Also what do you guys use for your beetle spin replacement bodies? Or do you not bother replacing those split tail and use something else? Thanks for the feedback!

    That's how I do it.

You can use whatever you like. To save money, buy a package of 4" bass finesse worms and cut them into 1" pieces. Voila -- bluegill baits!

I can't find it at the minute, but I had bought a 50 count pack of beetle spin bodies off ebay. I think it was $10 for the pack.
