Working the crappie nests maybe ?

You know I bet this here fella thunk eggs would be nice as a tasty treat .
But to be sure it looks like he is getting pecked up pretty good hanging around the nests .
I swear that one bite is exactly the size of a big old slab crappie mouth .
I thought right off a big ole male crappie done took a bite of your fin sir .

Somebody has been picking on that little guy, but Gills are scrappers too, maybe he started it? Looks like a future Taco to me

More likely that a bass got a hold of him and it somehow managed to escape. I've hooked gills that size and bass have grabbed it on several occasions, never caught the bass which eventually let go after up to 3 or 4 tries but gills swam off despite the beating they took. Gills are pretty tough.

that's an old joke at my house
a cop told us we lived in the wrong neighbor hood one time
then when I got upset with his answer about he was busy working dwi drivers instead of patrolling like he used to in our neighbor hood
he CALLED BACK UP
some trash broke out a window on my wife's car and took a hoody on the passenger seat she bought at a garage sale .
told me I should leave the door unlocked next time...and I was like
yeah and maybe a six pack on the seat and the keys to the car , so you could ketch them drinking and driving ?
I told him wth ...this is a gated community with cameras and no one knows nothing ?
that's when he broke out the .....you live in the wrong neighbor hood line …
