Default Recomendations on a good spinning rod for bass fishing. Major Craft Basspara?

Recomendations on a good spinning rod for bass fishing. Major Craft Basspara? This would be primarily used for wacky rigged Senko, light rigged Texas worm, drop shot, ned rig. I was wondering how the Basspara would compare to a Dobyns or other US available rod in the $100 range. Anyone with any experience? I was thinking I would be looking at about a 7' rod medium light or medium with a fast tip. Here is the model Major Craft I have been considering. I had several of the older models of BassPara in UL.......my sons still fish them. The new model from what I gather is better but I could not tell you how it would compare to a comparable priced Doybns. I have a like new MC Speed Style ML 67 that will blow many of the Doybns out of the water. It has a Toray Nano blank.....Fuji sic guides.....and weighs 3.5 ounces. A very sensitive rod. I used it once. I am getting rid of anything I have that is not UL. I just have no interest in fishing heavier gear. I’m asking $100 for the rod. I am in TN and I prefer to not ship rods. I would have to buy a PVC tube to mail it.....then about 15 bucks or so to mail it off. That of course would increase the price. But just thought I would throw that out there if you’re close to Murfreesboro TN.

    Regards

Please rethink your choice, having been a Ebay user for 10 plus years, items from Japan are grossly overpriced! Just saying

I dunno. $104 shipped sounds like a decent price for a Major Craft rod, wherever you buy it.

If you have ever watched any of my videos I tell folks that when one purchases fishing gear out of Japan items sold on eBay usually have a premium on the item that can be much higher than ordering from a Japanese web store. In this case the item comes in at a few dollars less than he could get it from Plat....or any other Japanese web-store. This is why one needs to know the market. But if you know the market price and are willing to to do the research there can be some good deals on eBay. I’m currently eyeing a rod that sells on Japanese web stores for $634....found it from an eBay seller for $321. Just recently purchased 4 reels much lower than from Japanese web stores. One just has to know the market.

For me, a spinning rod has to have a comfortable handle, and most don’t. I like a medium light rod for most of my spinning rod fishing, which is what I do most. But I fish deep, clear highland lakes with little or no vegetation.

Tackle Warehouse has their classic sale going right now, 25% off sale items. I have a couple of Dobyns rods and like them, the Fury line is $90 right now. Dobyns Fury Spinning Rods - Tackle Warehouse

The Ark series has a good looking handle design, but I havent tried one. They have several under $100.

Not on sale, but I really like the Daiwa Tatula XT rods I have. I have two casting rods and one spinning, a medium light. I use it quite a bit for NED rigs and wacky worms.

I bought my first JDM rod last year and it was a lower cost Major Craft Trapara and I have been very happy with it. I just need more time to fish with it. I think the quality exceeds anything available for the same price locally, this is why I am considering another JDM rod.

Thanks Warhawk. The Fury is one rod that the guys on Tactical Bassin give a very high rating for the money. I will try to feel of one tomorrow, if I can get off work in time. Tackle Warehouse also has 3 lines of JDM Major Craft rods now also. I just saw them when I was on the website, with the Nanoace starting at $99.00 and free shipping. Hard decision, but I need to make it soon so I get it here to fish with.

Alphahawk, I understand going strickly UL that is my personal preference. I have caught some pretty nice smallmouth and spotted bass on my UL MC Trapara with Stradic reel and 2 lb test line. However my fishing buddy loves to bass fish and needs someone to fish some tournaments with him and I am not sure how fishing 2 lb test in a bass tournament on a UL and a good bass breaking off would set with him. I do plan to fish the UL and 2 lb some when we are out practive fishing.

I ended up purchasing the MC SpeedStyle 672 ML from Alphahawk today. Alphahawk, it was a pleasure to meet you sir. I look forward to purchasing a reel to do this rod justice and good line to go along with it. So far I have enjoyed my trip down the JDM road, this being my second rod. Thanks for the guidance guys.
