Ugly Sticks are “Dead” rods. As has been mentioned the BPS Micro and Daiwa Presso will serve you much better.

An option might be the Leland TSS. And if you break the tip, according to Randy's latest video, you can get a replacement for $10. Randy is giving one away right now on his YouTube channel.

I also own a TSS Leland rod and like it fine. But it isn’t $20. As I’m fishing these new to me rods I’m finding what characteristics I like in common rods. It’s funny that some of the cheap rods perform very well. Every cherrywood rod I’ve owned, thats 3 rods, have wound up broken and in the trash. I fish these other rods the same way with better results. Berkley Lightning Rod is another of my favorites but handle it before you buy it. They’ve changed them from when I bought mine and I can’t vouch for the newer ones being like what I own. If you listen to nothing else I ever say, pay attention to this. If you’re looking for that special rod that is an extension of your mind and index finger, handle it first. Put the reel on it you plan to use and feel it’s balance, this is also very important. Take your time as there is a lot to choose from. The process is very much worth it.

Glad you liked the pics. I like to mix it up, bass and panfish. I have been downsizing my take for bass though. Even more fun catching the bass on the light stuff.
The videos aren't mine. Those are by Victor in Chicago.
