What I'll effects would putting a small slip float but no bobber stop to allow a 1/24 with tm to sink to desired depth. I know I could throw it further but am I sacrificing feel.

If I could offer one piece of jig fishing advice (to anyone), it would be this: lose the float.
I will be using 6# suffix 832 braid
.002 diameter.

For most reasons I do agree and for the other reasons I still don't disagree. But in this instance the bobber is only along for the ride it is not pinned or has a set stop position.

I left out distance. 40 ft.Sent from my E6810 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I am not familiar with the particular line you're using....but years back I tried every 2# test braid on the market to gain extra cast distance fishing a 1/64th Trout Magnet. Nothing really worked out until I tried NanoFil. I could cast a long way with that stuff. The point here is if I can cast a 1/64 TM jig head 54 feet using polyester line and over 60 feet using a 2# test nylon line with a diameter of .128mm you should be able to cast a 1/24 further than that. I agree with Disco about losing the float. What rod are you using to cast with?

Not familiar with the specs for that rod and their website doesn't show the specs...or I couldn't find them. Casting jigs all day with an 8 foot rod would wear me out. Sounds like you're going to have to try different line...rod combo to get better casting distance.
