Thread: The Hunter was hunted

You know some folks have predator instincts like other animals . That said I probably fall into that category when I get all focused on a prey item myself .
So there I am playing with the creek bluegill and ketching them well and playing with them lightly . I let them get really frisky and pull and splash and give it the best they got for the size they are . Take a photo on the prettier ones and drop them at my feet in the water near the rocks i am on .
So after 20 or so I thought did that rock just move out of the corner of my eye near me ?
Sure enough i focused my eyes a bit on that area closer and low and behold I am being very quietly and patiently STALKED by a whopper snapper !
Sure enough every sunfish splashing caused it to advance on my position and after it got about a rod length away i thought …..oh what the heck why not ….

So the next sunny in got to toy around and entice a strike from said snapper and let me just say this , I knew they were fast , but to be sure it happened so fast it was amazing .
The entire fish disappeared when it struck and it turned and ran with it !
So it became a serious tug of war for a good bit and then about when i thought I might video this event , the dino turtle said that is quite enough and spit said sunny right back at me ….
and that is my fishee/turtle story yawl .
