Cool video... I noticed you stay back from the water a bit... I am guessing some gators are present... or you probably always have to treat the water as if it does in south Florida
I drive by this canal everyday, but after living where I do for almost a year, I decided to fish it for the first time. Wasn't sure what the expect, but ended up catching some fish that I don't normally catch in the bodies of water I usually fish at. Great way to spend a weekend evening.

Neat video, are the cichlids (spelling) edible? They are cool looking!

I've lived here for about 3 years now and in all that time I've only seen one gator. It was a dead one of the side of the road. However everyone always tells me that they're all over the place. I try to keep my guard up as well as I can cause I know that eventually I'll see one and that's one time that you don't want to be surprised.

Nice video. Do anglers in South Florida harvest cichlids like other panfish or do anglers typically throw them back? I think I heard in Texas anglers aren’t allowed to throw exotic species back in the water. I may be wrong on that though.
