Nice, we have a Full Moon now, but I doubt there are any spawning fish up on the beds as the water temps earlier in the week were over 90 degrees. Last time I caught some Gills they were over deep water also, thanks for report.
Here's a few of the 14 bluegill I caught yesterday in the misty rain. I was lookin for some crappie, and stumbled into some nice gills suspended at 8', over 36 fow. They were flat up against a 30', nearly vertical bluff.
Casting accuracy was the key, as they were not moving an inch to take the bait. Had to bump em in the nose with either a Gulp minner, or a black and pink Slab Slayer on a 1/16 plain head, slung under a slip bobber.
Thanks for lookin.
Nice accident!

Went back to the same spot this mornin, same time, same baits, no fish ! The pressure had come up, the sun came out, and the wind picked up. Back at it tonight with the full moon …..
Very pretty fish, and I bet they were fun. I’m beginning to believe that they are as finicky as crappie at times.

Pretty fish. Putting a pattern on bluegill in the summer time can many times be far tougher than putting a pattern on other fish.
