Pretty fish there Skeet and one right at 10"! That one fish was worth the trip. We don't get to see many that size so it makes for a memorable trip when you do get one. Congrats!
PS Caught a decent mess of Woods crappie this morning. Not much for size but quantity was there.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it was a good short one.

Up2- I would welcome the chance. In fact, I would love to share this with anyone like you and I have. These little fish are tons of fun.

Stan - I have limpkins beyond count here but the roseate spoonbills show up a little further south. I think they like the grassy areas from Lemon Bluff south. They are beautiful.

No doubt the fish know the bird will stir up some food.
A couple of years ago I was setting up a game cam for deer on a very small pond.
I noticed several blue gill and a couple of small bass were watching me ! They were only a few feet away.
I thought ,wow! They aren’t scared at all.
I finished and started walking along the grassy edge and a couple of grass hoppers jumped away from me and landed in the water... boom both were instantly smashed by the fish.
I was curious if it was all coincidence but when I continued to circle the tiny pond the y followed the whole way. I can only assume the deer that came to drink daily had them trained to look for a easy meal when tall critters walk the edge.
