Sounds good, congrats
well i thought i had totally missed our shellcracker spawn as i was catching just a handful mixed in with the bluegill which i hammered for two days last week. 120 one day and 150 the next. i went out yesterday after work to the same place i caught the gills 7 days earlier. 65 crackers and just a handful of gills. guess the full moon this weekend moved em back in. thunder storm ran me off after about 2 hrs. will post a pick before i clean em after work today. btw they were still peeing all over the place but from the looks of em they were spawned out. water temp 81 fish were in about 31/2 fow.
Sounds good, congrats
Nice work! I will be going on a search mission this weekend to see if I can find any milling around still. What type of habitat/structure do redear go right after they spawn (early post spawn)? They lakes I fish are pretty shallow with an abundance of aquatic vegetation and woods structure. I typically find them spawning in less than one foot to maybe two feet deep. Just not real sure where to look for them post spawn.

immediately post spawn the fish probably are not going to too terribly far from the beds but will be around structure where they recuperate and hide from predators i would fish a setup that would keep the bait as close to the bottom as possible. i use a simple dropshot rig on a short leader. if you figure out what depth there at a jig (or live bait) under a cork will work. shell cracker aren't gonna spawn with the full moon all summer like blue gill they'll keep moving deeper as the summer wears on. i'm no expert but this is what i see on the waters i fish.
Congrats on your catch.
Regards
Good job getting after em. Those are numbers anyone would be happy with.
