    Default Day Off

I finally was able to take a day off and test out this new gear. A buddy of mine is taking his son limb-lining for Flathead Catfish and he needed some bait. I was hesitant at first to not use my old trusty BPS microlight and crickets, but once I set it down and picky up the Ice Cube, it was on. All I can say is WOW! I could feel everything. I am pretty sure that I felt a fish fart on my line once. Man these rods are sensitive. Most of the lakes I fish here in Central Arkansas has quiet a few Lilly Pads around the bank. This can make it challenging some time. But with the new setup I could feel the lure but the stalks, making it easier to navigate them without getting hung up. I saw several very large beds with my eyes and one is a historic redear bed but no one was home. I am afraid that I missed the redear spawn. I easily caught 50+ bluegill and a few green sunfish. Nothing big but It was a blast! Can’t wait to get back out there!

Nice looking Gills. No Lily Pads in our lakes to fish around, they tend to hang out near Buck bushes. What line are you using with the Tict?

2.5# Sunline Night Blue Ester with 2# Sunline Troutist Darkness leader. First real experience with this type of line. Besides a couple of hiccups, I thought it performed well.

Good job on the new rig. Your bud has plenty of bait.

Ironically I ordered the 2.5lb same kind of line and it’s at the post office along with a ton of jigheads... if your luvias is a 2004 we have the exact same set up... that rod is excellent for crappie and gills IMO and I have so much fun with it... good post and happy fishing with your new combo!
