    Default Redbreast.

Best part of today is I got to spend it fishing with my son. We hit Nickajack in search of panfish......any specie. The shellcracker appear to be gone. Only one bluegill today but we did find a redbreast bed and we pulled about 24 fish off of it. The redbreast sure have an attitude. They were doing some fighting. Very surprised I am not finding more redbreast and bluegill. Water temps were 77 when we left. I fished with a Palms XUL Area Trout Rod today. While it is a lot of fun......and it is a quality rod......it leaves a lot to be desired in the sensitivity department......especially after fishing with the Fine Tail Banshee.....Finezza Prototype......Tict Ice Cube....up until today. All fish caught on a Sow Bug Trout Magnet using either a 1 or 1.5 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head. My son and I both were using 2.1# test ester mono. My son was fishing a Major Craft Basspara UL I gave him 6 years ago. He was also using the Daiwa Gekkabijin jig heads and he too was deep hooking fish......nothing to bring blood but several fish had the jig deep. This bed was at edge of swimming area. Had they not been doing maintenance and had the area marker pulled back we could not have fished the bed. Turned out to be a great day.

Those are some beauties for sure. I caught my first redbreast ever at Woods Reservoir a couple weeks ago. They sure are a pretty fish, especially that 9 incher! Congrats.

Those redbreasts are really fun with a fly rod and poppers
Commercial worm farmer, but presently sold out until further notice.

That first Gill has some Girth for sure, my favorite. I will look for Redbreast later in the summer, I found a few last year in June. It is funny how the Crackers come in and are gone that fast. Hate to hear you dinged up the boat. I am headed out of the country on vacation, a slight oversight when I scheduled last year. Note to self, always look at the Moon Phase Calendar when scheduling vacation with the wife LOL. Keep up the reports, I hope to be able to check in and see some Panfish Pics next week, since I will not get to fish for them.

A very good day indeed. Those were some better sized ones than i found last week, but lets see what tomorrow brings. Time with your boy is always well spent, hope you can both get out again soon.
