I know a guy who makes great jigs.
Wanted to try some new spots. Fish were there and the trees were too. Too many break offs and snags.

New areas, same quality fish. Lake must be loaded with them. Are there any quality fish like that in Lake Skinner? My wife's sister and husband live in Hemet CA and talk about camping on this lake. Just curious.
Thnx guys
LOL if - only cost 4 jigs to remember why I need to stay in front of the island and don't fish the backside..
thnx for the offer Tim but I got waaay too much lead
Stan - you need to visit you wife's sister ASAP! Move her up the list of favorites.... You can fish LP and Skinner from there (20-30 minutes). LS has big fish too but gets a lot more pressure than LP. The water is clearer and a lot more reeds. If the dam wasn't blocked off from fishing the big CNBGs would probably be gone. You could make it to San Vicente also - haven't been yet (since they reopened) but some friends have caught 3lb CNBGs there. I think LP has better camping than LS. I can camp free on my boat - in the marina, LOL.

Led: I have visited out there twice, both times were several years ago though. Sister in law and husband are both reaching retirement age soon and have mentioned getting a boat to fish out there. He ( sisters husband) has asked about a Bass Tracker 17ft and its capabilities, but not knowing lakes, conditions, and particulars of area it is hard to answer his questions when speaking of lakes that are 3000 miles away. From what I understand there are strict regulations out there on engines and emissions, which is different than here in the East. Thanks for the info on the lakes, I thought they were close to you but not sure. I have looked Google Earth at the area lakes in that region.

You have to use a 4 stroke engine.
Hemet is ~4 hours from Lake Havasu - a small Redear there is 2lbs...….. Diamond Valley has big fish too.
Stan, if the sis and bil are looking at a 17, have them look at the 19. So much more boat in the extra 2’. Width and storage is way better and a 90hp would push it fine, but a 115 is the hot ticket. Just my opinion, I looked at them both pretty hard a little while back and the 19 pushed the 17 off my list. Be that much better in bad water too.
