St. Croix
Finally ordered a St Croix AVID concept rod. Ordered it through Amazon, shipped by UPS. They were afraid to bring it to the house, so I had to go to their Customer Center and pick it up. I immediately knew why the driver didn't want to face me upon delivery. Rod is(was) a one piece 6ft6" beauty. It was shipped in a 7ft cardboard box. Granted that isn't the greatest shipping container, but they bent the box double in the middle and broke the rod. Amazon immediately shipped another rod by FedEx. Gets here tomorrow. Not going to hold my breath. They break this one I'll call St Croix direct.

I don’t know why anyone would ship a single rod rod in a box. That’s happened to me twice. Both times they were damaged. Tubes are so much better especially PVC. I know that’s aggravating

Yeah! Really wasn't the best option. Received the new one today. Undamaged, but still in a box.

I wonder is UPS or Amazon bears the burden?

Anytime you order a St. Croix rod through Amazon, pick Swanson Bait and Tackle . Same price but they ship usually the next day in a hard cardboard tube , carefully packed inside . They are a St. Croix dealer . I’ve bought several rods from them and haven’t had an issue . They usually ship USPS Priority so i get it in a couple of days . Gillchaser
