JDM rods used today are more for stream fishing or chasing trout. The fish today quickly reminded me why I don't use this style much.. Too mushy - hard to set the hook (glad I was using Lil Nasty hooks) - and put pressure on the fish. These fish need to get their heads turned up in a hurry or they will go to the trees.
