    Nice fish!
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

SC - I fish Lake Perris, live in Riverside. We're outside the other LA. Thnx for the offer. I'm looking for someone that knows how to Crappie fish this lake.
Sometimes it's like fighting miniature Tuna, Stan. I'm using 7' and 7.5' rods to get a quick lift to get the heads turned up and toward me. If you don't - they will head to the brush piles and you have to backtrack to get them out. A lot of the big ones do the Tuna twirl at the end...
Being from SC and living in TN most of my life I have never heard the Bluegill fight called the Tuna Twirl. We call it the Crazy Eight at the end. Used mono for gill fishing for years but had problems with line twist, some due to the nature of their circling struggles. Once I switched to braid my line twist problems seemed to go away. We also catch ours shallow, 10ft or less and most of the time I use a small floater. When you are on an active bed they will even come up and attack the floater. When this happens you know it is about to be ON!

    Thnx SS
Actually the "twirl" is the fish using its body, like a rudder, swimming in a big circle. Sometimes they get the line to vibrate.
I'm using 2lb. copolymer line Stan either izorline XXX or (mostly right now) Yo-Zuri. I don't get a lot of line twist, but these days, I'm changing line - a lot.

Some of the beds I looked at today would probably make you crazy - there were some very big fish (10" & 11") on them! The nests were as big as a trash can lids in 9 to 11 FOW.
