Couldn't have said it better. Anyone who've read my posts about catching fish, have seen the variety of soft plastics fish of all species attack that them. The Trout Magnet's are just a shorter version of the Crappie Magnet grub. I always do well with the larger size grub and in most colors offered by Leland (and only because haven't tried all the the new dozen or so colors sent last year that I have yet to cast.)

All of the lures in trypman1's photo work very well when fish are in a chasing mood. But the cone-tail grub he showed is IMHO one of the best for suspending fish, many just hanging out to ambush lures that happen to pass their way.

Again, it's not the Magnet's split tail that's key. It's the cone shape that has its own unique action when twitched, size not nearly as important IMHO.
Here's an example of a hybrid hand-poured cone tail - the tail of a softer plastic:

Here's a Crappy Magnet tail fused to a grub body of a different lure:

Other than lure design, do yourself a favor and try 1/32 and 1/16 oz unpainted ball head jigs. IMO they allow for the perfect presentation that fits this tail design - split or not.

Received a couple test packs of the 1/64th heads and they contain #6 hooks. The difference I see is the package doesn't say '
"Trout Magnet" but says "Trout Slayer". Are they changing the name and the hook size? I confuse easily

The "trout slayer" head has a #6 hook. The TM has a #8.

Was wondering what you recommend Alphahawk for fishing bluegill, crappie and bass. Will the panfish magnet jigs be better than the trout magnet for those types fish species or should I bump up to the crappie magnets?

The Panfish jig head just has a longer shank. The Trout Magnet and Panfish Magnet bodies are the same. Crappie and bluegill love a Trout Magnet body. Smallmouth and KY bass do also. While largemouth will hit a Trout Magnet they don’t seem to much care for it.

I got the Panfish Magnet kit recently and boy ket me tell you. I love that kit. I'm going crappie fishing tomorrow and they are going on a rod for sure. So far I've caught a nice redear, green sunfish, and a couple largemouth bass on the catalpa and bison colors. Name: 20191112_171039.jpg

Those grubs look like killers. How do you go about fusing them?
    Thanks,

Caught a crappie on a bison color today. So that's 4 species on them!
