    Default Ultimate bluegill reel?

Thinking or importing these from China. Have them out on the river a few days ago, and I'm pressed so far. What do you guys think?

It would depend on the cost. If they were cheap enough to be disposable, I'd try one.

Looks like a decent design. It looks like it would be fine for vertical fishing or trolling. The presenter makes a big deal about the ball bearing free spool feature, but I'm not sure what benefit that would be on a bottom mount reel unless you can learn to feather the spool with a finger. It certainly doesn't seem like it would be that suitable for ultra light casting that I prefer for most panfishing. Might be useful as a vertical jigging reel as presented in the video, or as a bait runner reel for catfish.

Cricket, well, you may not know, but I'm the presenter. Bottom mount reel are what I'm used to as a fly fisherman. I also I do a lot of handline fishing so using my hands to feather the spool is second nature to me. I was mostly wondering what other people would think. A lot of my YouTube subscribers seem to like the idea, but I wanted to reach outside YouTube to see if there was any kind of interest. I troll and drift almost exclusively. Vertical jigging, longlining, trolling drifting, multispieces fishing is what I do, and that's what most of my subscribers do.

It seem cost and casting are the two question that keep coming up. It casts okay, not a monstrous caster, but at east for me feathering the spool is second nature because I handline fish so much. I just fish differently than most, and have never found exactly what I needed until this little reel. Just wondering what others might think of it before I commit to a sizable order from China.

Well you certainly have presented a good looking introduction and summary of features. I've watched a few of the videos you post to this site and they are of high quality. The reel looks like it could be a good option for some types of fishing, but I primarily fish with very light tackle for casting small lures and bait for panfish. I do use bait casters for bass fishing and have a thumb educated to feathering a revolving spool, but not for one below the rod.

The reel designed for super light 2 lbs line and such, almost fly fishing tippet material. It's an ice fishing sized reel, so super light line is what it's designed for. I was surprised that I can hold a sizable amount of 8 lbs plain mono. For me feathering with my pinky is perfect given my fly fishing and handlining background. The totally free spool mean hyper light lures and super minimal weight will cast. I tie my own flies and grow my own maggots to fish with.

The only reason I use 8 lb line is because trolling with 2 lbs line is miserable. There has to be enough strength to pull free yet light enough for line shy fish.

I would think I would want to try one for spider rigging and if I could get used to casting it without a backlash it would be great for the light weight jigs.
