Default Line stretchers in the shallows! LP 11 08 17

Fished deep in flat water yesterday. Had a ripple this morning so went shallower, ~12.5 FOW, water temp ~67*F. Seems like more males in the shallows and the females are biting deeper. Still using chubs, more of the belly spinner style, and using heavier jigs in deeper water.

Nice fish! Gills that big feel like two pound bass on light tackle. In fact I'd rather catch big pan fish that big on light tackle any day!

thnx Sm - 2lb test gear magnifies the fishing experience. I don't think most of these fish would be caught if it weren't for the UL gear. Lucky the fish are getting stuck in the mouth - if they swallow the jig it breaks off....

Realized 2 of the BGs are ~11" - like that green board, not the graphics (need some decals, LOL).

So very true. I've begun using more 1/32 and 1/64 oz jigheads with small finesse action plastics and have found far more strikes than using 1/16 oz. Only a few lakes I fish in my area have quality such as the ones you've shown, but I still like catching large numbers of fish regardless the size or I'm bored. Testing my lure creations matters just as much.

    thnx ETF

Sm - we have a few lakes, in SoCal, that are actually better than Lake Perris. LP is close and the only lake around here that you can keep a boat in the marina.
