They have always tasted good when I have had them
So ,I took the traps and micro rod to the creek to catch some catfish bait.I ended up catching several war mouths, most were dinks, but three were fillet worthy, since Tuesday nights are fish nights I figured to toss them in the pile of other fillets.
On the platter were crappie, bluegill, and a nice channel cat fillets,I seperated the war mouth to be sure to taste sample for any difference between the gills and crappie. In my opinion, yes I could taste a slight difference, but still very good.
My son didn't know I had put some war mouth in the mix,but he noticed the fillets tasted a bit different from the others. He ask me if I had caught young bass and fillet it,I had to agree, war mouth taste like a small bass.
Not sure of others take on the flavor, but I will add them into the mix again. So,our smorgasbord of a fish fry was a success,oh,I almost forgot,we tried a different battermix as well,we usually use a panko blend, but momma found the longjohn silver recipe and tried it.......it too was pretty dang good.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Is the long john silvers a recipe or a mix than be bought?
Thanks
homemade ,of course you have to purchase the ingredients, but if you got a wife that cooks,I'm betting the ingredients are at your home now.

I like tacos, and I like fish, stands to reason I should like fish tacos,I will give them a try.
