Every year our church has a Memorial Day picnic, every year I try to take anywhere from 10-25 kids to our churches pond for some bluegill fishing.Sad to say,but many kids never go fishing untill then, they really light up when they catch a gill.
This year I'm going to give a Tenkara demonstration,I'm certainly not a pro,but they don't know it .My goal is to get as many kids off the I-phones as I can,at least for a little bit.last time I took the kids, several teenagers wondered out to watch, before long, they were waiting in line to take their turn, wish me luck!

Really great to get out fishing and away from electronics. I always enjoyed taking my kid fishing and really get a kick out of taking the grandkids. Good on ya for taking time to do that with all those youngster. Glad to see another Tenkara fisher on here.

Good luck with your demonstration. If they're catching fish you're doing it right!

Update on outing, this is the winner for the biggest fish, it measured 10-1/2". There were nearly 30 kids showing up to fish, many gills were caught.By the time the day ended several teenagers decided to fish, plus many adults, most hadn't fished since they were kids.An older man and woman tried fishing for the first time in their lives, needless to say, they acted like they were kids again, I call it successful .
