As I mentioned about those two lakes earlier in the post. Those two are the "Gold Standard" for bluegill in public waters. There are a lot of places one can pay big bucks to catch bluegill like in Lake Perris....Richmond Mill is one of them....but as mentioned earlier you will pay through the nose to fish there...and they are spoon fed several times a day. But there is no other shell cracker fishery like Lake Havasu....if there is one could someone please let me know....LOL.

I personally am not doubting you. I have not seen bluegill that big, on a consistent basis anyway.

The Lake Havasu fish are hardly touched and the lake is HUGE! Not only are the RE monsters - the hybrid BGRE are getting there too. The last 2 world records that came out of there were in the north part of the lake. We fish the south part and have found RE up 4lb9oz. I fish 2lb test and have been smoked 3 times on this lake...

I keep a boat at LP - close to home. LP is a lot smaller and it gets pounded pretty good - mostly for bass. Jet skis and ski boats can be a real headache in the warmer season. Got some pretty good crappie too - no one fishes for them.

You will probably see some very large fish come out of San Vicente soon. I need to get down there - for the spring bite for sure.
