Also touched base with a guide of note on Dale Hollow.....he told me the Gills have not spawned there either. Tells me it will be in June....says it was same way there last year. That is great news. I didn't think I had missed the spawn up there....was up there every few days for almost 2 months. I had started second guessing myself though.

A lot of us on KY and Barkley have been 2nd guessing our abilities this spring on the gills and redears. The spawning areas that have done well for me for years have been vacant--zero fish on the beds on side-scan or by putting baits in there. I'm really starting to think there are some nefarious things going on like Asian carp spooking them off beds or the untold numbers of cormorants we now have up here taking the numbers down.
