That Limber Tip is an awesome find... I've been hunting for a couple of rods for a while now (not Evergreen though). I've been reluctant to pay $150-250 premium over MSRP so far. May I ask where you ended up ordering from? I'm always on a lookout for new sellers...

I too am curious where he found the new Limber Tip. As to paying a premium. eBay sellers usually mark up a high end rod quite a bit....but that is not written in stone. Shim Reels sells new Superior line of rods about as cheap as anyone. I had Plat give me a quote on 2 of the new Superior line of rods. They quoted me same price as Shim Reels. The thing is Plat can’t get me one until September. I ponder every day whether to get a new Ever Green or an high end XUL area trout rod. I sure wish EMS mail would start again....sure would open everything back up.

    Regards

    X3
Platt has canceled my last 3 orders due to no stock.
I haven't even heard back in three weeks now from a supplier in Thailand.

By the way.....for those looking to acquire one of the new Superior line of Ever Green....you’re going to pay at or around 500 bucks to get one....no matter where you buy. MSRP on those rods are over 50,000 yen.

I had heard of shimreels here (thanks, @D10 !), an ebay vendor in Singapore, and saw that they had several of the new Superior line of rods at a "reasonable" price. I messaged them thru ebay and asked about the Limber Tip Ss, and they replied that "it was on their list" and they would be listing the model in the next week or so, and to keep checking. So I checked ebay twice a day, and this morning, it showed up. The price was far less than what Plat sent me a pre-order (reserve) invoice for September shipping - which I declined to pay, and am glad I did.

Highest end model in the lineup...good score. I bought a rod from ShimReels years back. So long ago I have forgotten which one it was....LOL.

Thanks for the info! I've been checking their web store on a regular basis, but for the rods I'm interested in the price is always quite a bit higher than MSRP. I'd love to try out the Superior at some point, but my current interests are somewhere else. The price for the Superior looks great though!

Are there any Evergreen ultralight models more reasonably priced? It's simply not justifiable in my case to spend $500 on one single fishing pole....Do they have anything that's worthy at the $300 price point??

$300 is still a tremendous amount of money to spend on a bluegill/crappie pole...
